You open with a statement about the Ashkenazi Jews moving from Babylon. I'm certain they are called Ashkenazi because they are Descendants of Ashkenaz. This is extremely important , because Askenaz was a descendant of Noah through Japheth, Not through Shem. God's Chosen People were descendants of Shem, through Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The Askenazi are European Converts. There is no reason for them ever to have been in the East.
